RULES TO LOVE BY

TEN COMMANDMENTS OF RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP

1. I
'm probably going to live 10 to 15 years. Please keep me my entire life.  To be separated from you will be very painful.

2. Please be patient and kind.  Give me the time I need to learn.  I need to understand what it is you want of me.

3. Give me food, water and exercise every day.  To stay healthy, I need the same kinds of things you need.

4. Please have me spayed (if I am a girl) or neutered (if I am a boy).  I will be a better pet and you won't have to find safe homes for all my babies.

5. You are my best friend.  Please don't stay mad at me or lock me up as punishment.  I can't understand why you are doing that.

6. Talk to me.  I like hearing your voice, even if I don't understand what you are saying.

7. I don't hurt you.  Please don't hurt - or hit - me.

8. Before you yell at me for acting lazy or not doing what you say, remember that I might be tired, hungry or sick.

9. Take care of me when I get old.  One day you'll need someone to take care of you, too.

10. Stay with me when I am scared.  I feel safe when you are around.

PRIVACY FOR DONORS, SUPPORTERS, AND WEBSITE VISITORS:Your privacy is important to us.  To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our information practices.  Our privacy policy is simple. We collect no information about you unless you provide that information to us.  In addition, we do not give, share, sell, or transfer any personal information about you to any third parties.  To prevent unauthorized access, maintain accuracy, and maintain the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure any information that we collect. If you have questions about our privacy practices, you may contact us at the postal or email address posted on this website.

REMEMBER: More than 600,000 puppies and kittens are born every day, compared to 10,000 human births each day. Simple math shows that there simply aren't enough homes for them all.  As a result many animals will live miserable lives as strays being forced to try and make it on their own instead of being cared for and loved. Statistics also show as many as 6-8 million dogs and cats are entering shelters each year.  As many as 3-4 million dogs and cats are being euthanized in these shelters evey year.  Join us in making the world a better place for companion animals!
